Kindred Healthcare Is an Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk® 2010 Platinum National Team

In June 2005, Kindred Healthcare became a Platinum National Team member in support of this important cause. This is the sixth year Kindred will be a Platinum National Team member for this event.

Memory Walk is the Alzheimer’s Association’s national fundraising event that raises awareness and funds to support local programs for people with Alzheimer's disease, their families and caregivers. Since 1989, Americans who have participated in Memory Walk have raised more than $200 million for local programs and services.

Memory Walk will take place in more than 600 communities nationwide, mainly during September and October. This annual event will bring out thousands of men, women and children as participants, volunteers and sponsors.

Many of our nursing centers offer specialized programs for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Our Reflections and Passagesâ units serve this special population with specialized programs.

The Alzheimer’s Association has introduced CareFinder www.alz.org/carefinder, a site that helps users find the right care options, from home and community-based care, to assisted living and nursing home care. CareFinder has a special feature that allows individuals and families to input personal information, special needs, abilities and preferences. In turn families receive a customized summary report with care recommendations and specific questions to ask potential care providers based on the profile.
